Be inspired to develop your individual creative vision, enhance your skills and create original artworks. Meet other art devotees and engage in an environment where innovative expression fuses with new ideas and experimentation with drawing and printmaking.

This Drawing and Printmaking Short Course is a great opportunity to work within an inspiring studio setting at Victoria Polytechnic. The printmaking studio is a large, clean work area with good lighting and excellent printing facilities.

During the working process we will try various techniques in an attempt to arrive at an optimal connection between content and method. The experience gained in the process will be discussed individually and in groups, in order to examine, change or broaden previous ideas of artistic practice.

Our workshops focus on a range of advanced drawing processes that underpin the printmaking techniques including Intaglio printing, Collagraph printing, Relief printing and Mono printing. Participants will gain knowledge and expertise through guided exercises, demonstrations, one on one tuition and group critiques. The workshops can be studied individually or as a cluster. Each workshop will consist of four sessions of four hours each.

Artist and lecturer Robert Mangion who specialises in cross media practice including experimental drawing and printmaking will lead the workshops.

The studio is situated at our campus on the corner of Nicholson and Buckley Streets in the heart of Footscray; only seven minutes walk from Footscray Station. Parking is available onsite.
